First Ride Crash

Hey all, my wife and I took our sleds out for the first ride of the year. We got 12" of fresh powder and it was awesome until my wife rear ended me with her SRX (queue woman driver jokes) . No damage at all to my viper at all. I have attached some pictures. Could someone tell me how to get the black bar off that attaches to the bumper? I know it runs down by the radius rods but it looks like there's a bolt in a channel that I wouldn't be able to get a ratchet on. Also while were on the topic any one got a bumper, the black bar frame thingy and a new screen (the one under the bumper) they want to sell me?

ALOT of KNUCKLE BUSTING AND CUSSING! Might as well go ahead and pull the pipe flanges. If I remember correctly theres 2 bolts on each side(1/2 SAE or 13 metric). You will need a variety of extensions so as to place the ratchet in a location where you can at least a little bit of swing/rotation on ratchet. Some of them a swivel helps other it wont work at all. You can remove steering parts to make more room but I didn't, I had it sitting on a milk crate so I could easily move steering parts.......maybe why that's what made it so much fun! The nut side should be welded to inner bumper.

Crap, figured as much...... Why couldn't she break something easy? Is it possible to bend it back without removing it? Can I put a giant bar somewhere?

Check the hood hinges over also, and where they mount to the hood. Easy for these areas to get damaged as well in a hard enough hit.
I agree with the pry bar and/or porta power options as a first resort, may want to remove the hood to get it out of the way to prevent damage and give better access.
 
That is bent pretty bad, worth a try though. DEFINATELY take the hood off to save it further trauma. I would take the hinges off the bent piece (the rivet will hold the bottom/bolts in place) When re-assembleing those 4 nuts are where you adjust hood to belly pan line up. Leave them rather loose then you can push/pull hood as needed. Something else to keep in mind if you are successful bending it back to where it needs to be, it will be much weaker then before, next incedent it will basically cave right in.
 
Hinges look fine thanks for the suggestion tho. If I used a porta power where/what would I use to push off of? The bulk head where the radius rods bolt are, is to low.

Were you riding in the Ottawa area?
 
Closest trails open were in Cheneville Quebec. That's where we went. We alternate between Quebec and Ontario trail passes to mix it up. Trails were awesome though.

Wow thanks for the offer. I actually found a member on here that parts sleds and is willing to sell me the parts for probably the price of shipping and is local. I appriciate the offer though.
