Exciter II air filter in hood?

1993 Exciter II ST.
The airfilter (or pre-filter) attached to the underside of my hood is toast, literally crumbled into dust just before first ride of the season.
Any ideas on what I could use as a replacment? I mostly ride trails with the wife so i'm not too worried about it, just nice to have that peace of mind.

Checked out yamahapartshouse and they're discontinued, led me to think that local Yammie shop would be same thing. Salvage yard is a good option although i have none close to me. The hunt continues!
