new belt question

so had a belt frag on me, so its time to buy a new one.

i know the belt for my sxr is a 8DN-17641-00 but you can only get a 8DN-17641-01. so what is the diffrence between a 00 and an 01? can you still run the 01??
 
difference is length,can't remember how much as I investigated this last season.You will have to remove shim/shims in back of 2ndary to get belt to climb up higher.

I believe you are correct. Seems like last time I was messing with a 01 SxR it was three 8MM bolts with said washer under them. You can take secondary off to get to them all or raise the track of ground so you can roll secondary into position to get to bolts easily. I may be wrong but I always thought new belt run with out washers, as belt wears put them back in.
 
The new belts suck but yes that's the replacement. I can't say for sure what the exact difference is but I know my stuff is slower on timers with the new belts. I've got a stock of 00's that I'll run till i'm out.

Seems the -01 is a harder compound. I have heard of a lot of the racer types going to the Ultimax (805 or 8105,,,cant remember at the moment) instead of the -01

how much slower are you on top end?
