your geared quite a bit lower now, the sled will be alot quicker in a short run, it will have a tendancy to spin the track alot easier on snow now so you will need to play with the limiter straps and the rear transfer rods. Top speed will be reduced some but youll gain alot more low-mid range by far.
As for the clutching ,more then likely its going to over rev from the deeper gearing, so with you already having the 4.5 in both holes, youll either need to change the front primary spring to a softer shift rate to bring the rpm back down or change the rear helix to something with a steeper finish angle. The rx1 helix really only ends up around a 42 finish angle which is too shallow for a srx with 8dn20's in my opinion, youd need something more like a 45-46 finish angle. Some good helix angles to look for would be: 52/47,51/45,50/46,54/46
you didnt mention what primary spring you have in the front??, stock is a yellow/white/yellow. 45/128kg
Thanks for the reply.
I will probly end up getting a 23 tooth top gear. But I havnt tried it out yet.
I have the rx1 helix on it because I had it laying around. I was going to order one from pioneer. It has the stock spring. I do have a couple o different springs I can try

Got a question about the handlebar bracket you used.I noticed that it's a parking brake bracket but what's it off of?The one on my SRX has the master cylinder cast into it;did you machine something else to to accept the brake lever? This setup is exactly what I'd like to do to my 01 and will be putting a list of parts together to start gathering up but want to know which sled I should be sourcing things like the p brake lever from.I already know that I want a Viper or later year V Max reverse with HYVO gears so it's just a matter of the rest of the stuff.

It's off a vmax or sxr. Same as the srx one. I just used an angle grinder to cut off what I didn't want on, lol

Ah yes that would simplify things lol.Thanks.
Guys, I did this mod on both of my srxs. It worked as is, but the adjustment had to be 100% spot on. What I ended up doing to make it more forgiving, was weld the threaded hole in the parking brake lever shut. Then I re drilled and tapped a hole just a touch farther from the pivot point. This allowed more throw in the cable and made adjustment more forgiving. Before i moved the hole I felt that the cable had a little tension pulling on the reverse engagement....not good.
