Hello TY family.. I have a 1997 SX 700 red head with 4,300 miles and it's time for a new track, suspension, gears, pipes, clutches, dropping down the skid and a few mods I see here on this site. Still runs great and all, but the time is up.. I heard about a lower gear, as the stock gearing is "tall". Different shocks for front and rear skid and different shocks for front skis to get more travel. I would like to install a 1.00 new ripsaw track with 96 studs (1.11 studs without problem?), 4th wheel kit, anti ratchet drives and dropping the suspension down like I have seen on a few of these sleds on here. Piping and clutching and jetting are new to me but I'm mechanically inclined and have no problem building old chevy trucks. I'd like to refurbish and improve this sled as I love it and understand it's the best sled probably ever made. I'm lost where to start.. Well, I know the first thing is MONEY. Any information that you can provide would be greatly appreciated... P.S. I'm 6' 3" tall and 280lbs, I know a heavier rider has alot to do with setup and clutching.. I'm not new to the sport just had kids and now I got some time..
