Well I seen my second brass gear failure on a red head in the last 2 years my brothers sled 02 MM 700 kept over heating with cold heat exchangers we tried head gaskets first with no luck so we pulled in the 600 dollar running parts sled (00 sxr 700) we picked up last summer jerked the crankshaft out of it and bingo she is running again. what a shame everything else on the bad crank is in perfect condition I might have to send it down to Jeff and have a backup.

Could you fix mine while you're at it? Ha. I'm pretty sure I'm facing the same thing now. Who would rebuild the crank or whole motor?

From what I heard he did all the 98-99 SRX cranks for Yamaha's "bulletin/Recall" for like 3-5 state area. Have yet to have him do any work for me BUT have heard great things from a lot of members.
