1994 Vmax 600 Clutch Question

My Sled seems to hit pretty hard when you want to take off, Its almost like its in neutral. you come to a stop give it some throttle and it hesitates longer than i think it should, and then bam it engages. can it be adjusted? when its moving, and you slow down then give it throttle works fine. Any help would be great. Thank you for your input.

My 96 vmax did that when I first bought it. I took the belt off and found out the belt melted on to my clutch. So I took the primary clutch apart and sparyed it with break cleaner and cleaned it up and now it works good as new. It probably just needs a good cleaning.
