What if....

with some suspension upgrades and a different seat your srx can ride just as good as an apex, point and case:

seating position is much better and it takes the bumps a hell-uv-alot better!
With that said, over on the TH4stroke site, there was one individual who put a 700 red head, WITH TRIPLE PIPES into a nytro. The sled may not have a head light but it is mechanically sound and i could only imagine it being a blast to ride. I will attempt to find the link and post here for you.

I remember that thread!

It's a shame that Yamaha quit developing their triple 2 strokes because they were the only ones that lasted. If they brought them back, they would sell like crazy (preferably an 800)....I was told out on the trail recently that I had the nicest sounding sled of the 10 that were there. As far as the idea about the SRX engine in the apex, I'm not sure if it would work out or not. The chassis is designed for the heavy motor so the lighter engine may throw it off balance, not sure. But an interesting idea tho.

if I had the brains, time and money I stuff a "mrviper700" 780 srx engine into the nytro

awe come on ops, wheres yer sense of adventure? was just thinking out loud is all guys, after 160 miles on my srx last saturday, found myself needing more suspension, so, next year it will be upgrade time, weather it be a new skid, and front long travel in the srx or a used apex. I am lucky to put on 1000 miles, and find it hard to justify 4g or more for a sled, thats what got me thinking about the transplant idea, as I know a guy with an 07 ape with a junk mill in it.

Sorry,,, Been on em both (like em both) and just don't get the vibe that a marriage between the two would be satisfying for either even if someone could make it fit. Room for SRX carbs/pipes in a 4 stroke chassis is going to be a real head scratcher.

I sold my 4 stroke cuz I don't have time to ride right now but kept my Vmax-4 cuz I love it and can run with any of them if I want/get the chance to.

Maybe if I was in your position I would have more interest.

Would be cool to see if someone ever did figure a good way of doing it.

Nice looking ride kid.

Don't know if they've changed their printing process or materials, but I completely eliminated the POLARIS and YAMAHA print on my XCR and SRX seats with laquer thinner without any damage to the seat. I know it sounds dangerous to the seat material - and use the thinner sparingly and lots of clean rags and very light scrubbing with a tooth brush if there is a deep grain - but it worked.

I found out by accident when some got splashed onto the XCR seat and I had to do something. I started with the bar pad on the SRX to be sure...

Just a thought.
