Choking it while running will kill the engine, that's how I shut it down last night. That may also be why it started so easily tonight though too.
I see ...well I think you will need to look for a empty bowl problem or low fuel setting ....

Sounds like the plunger/s are working and you're pulling it over a little faster. Do you have EGTs? If you choke it warm are all three cylinders cooled the same when you blip the choke - are all three plugs wet if you kill it with the choke?
Don's suggestion to choke it off when finished riding does seem to help me pull it over faster... when I remember.

The sled did have egts on it when I bought it but I took the gauge out so I could put a speedo back in.I have been trying to come up with a spot to put the gauge so I can run it again.
Tonight I tried the sled with the update relay kit installed and I pulled a total of 10 times without so much as a sneeze, put the old relay back in and 3 pulls it was running. Now it may very well have started on the 13th pull with the kit in there so I'm still grasping at straws here so I'll put the old relay in and see what happens tomorrow night.

Ok I think that I'm starting to narrow down the cause of my particular issue with the starting in cold temps,I'm leaning towards it being a vacuum issue and that the reeds are not sealing enough to give proper suction for the enricher/choke circuit. The sled will start without the load control relay so I don't think it's an interrupting fire issue caused by a faulty relay and I'm ALMOST positive that the gas is staying in the carbs up to proper level but if I have time this weekend I'm going to pull the carbs off again and drain each bowl into individual cups and see just how much gas is in them.
I guess some guys are resolved to having a hard starting sled,me I'd rather find out why. There's not too much of anything more embarrassing than being the only guy in the group pulling your guts out to start your sled first thing in the morning.

Just to let you guys know,my son and I went for a ride on Saturday and of course I rode my 98 with the mono skid in it.This sled hadn't been running in I'm going to say 2 and a half weeks and on the 6th pull it was idling. This one has the stock reed cages where the 01 has the V force 3's,which I didn't put in by the way they were there when I bought it.So once I get the sled into the shed tonight the first thing I'm going to do is yank the reed cages out and look at the petals and see how they are sealing.
