One of my buddies has a track off of a Pro XR (2004) and i could get it for a steal of a deal but i believe that it isnt as wide... (14 - 14.5) ... Could i install this lag on my 2001 SRX? I am aware that i would probably have to move a few things but i was just curious as to whether or not anyone has done this?

I believe the prox and iq tracks were 14.5" wide so it should fit without modification. What size lugs are on it?
 
Yea their in the same place. Just to make sure on fitment you could measure the distance from the outer edge of track to the outer edge of the wheeles (smallest distance most important). For a 14" wide track youd need half inch
 
You can go to 1.75" lugs on stock 9t drivers. Minimal clearance though and some rubbing if not tight but doable. Shouldnt have any issues with the 1.4
