I'll get the harness repaired this weekend. I'm ready to order any parts I need to get it dialed in, or to have on hand for the tuning process, there are so many different setups talked about in search function. Repaired the harness this morning and just came back from making some long WOT pulls.
Stock 98 SRX 700, 8dn-20 with 4.5 grams in each hole, y/s/y primary spring, green secondary spring at 70 with 51/43 Billet helix from Pioneer
Engages at 3500rpm and tops at 7900rpm. (95mph).
Came back and replaced the y/s/y primary spring with my stock primary spring and engagement seems the same and picked up 150-200rpm on the top end 8100rpm (100mph). Any pointers on which direction to go to pick up more peak rpm? I did notice when my pipes were off that my pipe gaskets may be leaking a little, ordered new gaskets that will be here next week, but don't know if that would effect anything.

They're on the way, exhaust leak to the pipe makes that big a difference? What about the can, looks like it has an aftermarket stainless can on it that has a crack where the pipes are welded into the can, just found it today after inspecting everything.

the 51/43 helix will work well if the temps are warmer,o and above,otherwise I found it will over rev,but that can be fixed by adding more tip weight.Check your power valves if they are opening..maybe a pull thru or two or three going on.

No, it jumps straight to 78-7900 and stays there unless we on a 1mile+ long pull then it gradually climbs to a hair past 8000, yesterday we rode 42 miles and only once saw it touch 8000, usually a needle width under 8k.
u will need to do some little test ...maybe the 51-43 is not a real 51-43 ....do u have your 47 straight ??if u can hold rpm with the 47 than your helix is wrong on what is type on ...do u run a green secondary spring ???? or maybe u doesn't have all the power u should have ....like blue said u should look at the servo pv and look at those power valve

What is the stock Helix that came on the 98 SRX? That's the only other helix I have. I'm going to get my exhaust leaks fixed and check my power valves and go from there.

stock helix for that year sled was a 47 with red spring at 60 wrap.Gearing was 23/37.Primary Spring was a G-G-G.8Dn-00 weights with 15.6 rollers as well.Engagement was around 3800 and shift out is 8500.

did you try a new belt just for sh*ts and giggles.If your belt is worn bad or has any burned spots on it..change it.You may be surprised what a new belt can do.Last season I went and washed one of my belts I was using for the past season.What a mistake.My rpm's just dropped and could not get it back up even with a half dozen clutching changes.Then went to a new belt and Bingo my rpm's were spot on again.

Brand new belt and plugs, tried that.

do a simple test.Take the servo cover off and look at the cables if they are connected.If so then take your finger and tug on each line.If the cable springs back,then there is no pull thru.But to see if servo moves,idle down below 900 and see if it rotates.Once idle is back to where it should be..start the sled and see if the servo cycles at all..
