I'm new to the pro-action plus suspension and maybe this is normal. but when i sit on my sled it goes way down, i can even push it down with my hands and the snow flap almost touches the ground. when i let go it comes back up like it should. i went riding last week and it was pretty hard to stay on the sled, i got a little air after hitting a hard drift and it sent me over the handle bars. my previous sled was a 85 poo indy trail and to be honest this thing doesn't seem to ride much better. im guessing one of my shocks are blown, i have a 94 vmax parts sled maybe i could use one of those shocks? thanks in advance.

First check the large rear spring preload. You might have to stiffen up the spring. I had to go to the big boy spring on mine and I was only about 200lbs with gear at the time.
When I bought my Xt new back in '96 my dealer sold me the sled with no suspension tuning. You could call it basically cash and carry for my sled(and WILL NEVER darken their doorway ever again - if I can help it).... What I did was bought the spanner wrench from Yamaha and adjusted the suspension for proper "set in" and it helped TONS! Good Luck.
Alright, im going to have to wait until we get some warmer weather before i dig into it because i don't have a heated shop and its about 5 degrees in there. But i found this video on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uz5denu8Cec would this apply to the 96 version? or is the setup different.
My dealer was also worthless. Not too - Bright Kawasaki. The only thing they did for the prep was put oil and fuel in it.
Ended up getting escorted out by the owner the last time I stepped foot in the joint - 13 years ago.

Do to the fact i cant afford to buy newer sleds all the toys that i have owned i buy them as fixer-uppers from Craigslist and have done pretty well. the only reason i go to a dealer is usually to get advise and parts and fix it myself. not saying all dealerships are bad, we have the worlds largest arctic cat dealer in town, but they only sell arctic cat parts so it doesn't do me any good but all my buddies that own arctic cat say they do a great job with getting parts for ya and fixing your sled.

Yeah, The BRIGHT guys don't give much info... I am talking about K&W Cycle. I really got boned when I bought the sled. They made PROMISE after PROMISE ONLY to be misled and let down, and was told that I got a good deal (not to mention OUT OF THIS WORLD percentage rate on financing)... Oh well live and learn(the hard way) lol
Yammi 'round the Detroit area the dealers DONT want you to ask questions as they would rather you bring in your sled so they can work on it, I like you would rather work on my own equipment so I know that it is either fixed correctly or I don't have to wait on someone else to get me my equipment back so that I can go riding. And, the ONLY reason why I bought new at the time was I was getting back into sledding and wanted a long travel sled. Now the dealers "up north" they are a total different story they will at least try to help get you back on the trail.
