98/00 SRX missing at mid to full throttle

I titled this thread the way I did because my sled is a 98 but with 00 electronics on it.I noticed a something yesterday with the way it's been running at mid and above throttle and that is that the engine would lose one cylinder at those throttle inputs for some reason.At lower throttle it works fine,it starts and idles fine it's just the higher throttle opening.I'm thinking it's possibly the float level in one of the carbs because I don't know which cylinder is stumbling and if I remember right I have the floats set at 13.5 - 14mm now.

I will add that I'm not 100% sure it's fuel related,I mean could a spark plug act the same way?It's been a few seasons on the plugs I have in it and I've been meaning to give the old girl a new set.Plus the spark plug caps are certainly old enough that they may even be due for replacement but I'm not going to rule anything out just yet.I'd certainly entertain any and all opinions from you guys because I've had many a problem solved by the great minds on this forum.

Start with the simple stuff first.
Drain all the old fuel out of the sled and replace with fresh 91 octane.
Lots of rub throughs showing up on the aging SRXs and Vipers.
Change your plugs and if that doesn't help check the plug caps.
Once you've eliminated those items and problem still exists you can move on to cleaning the carbs and checking float levels after that its time to trouble shoot the more expensive stuff!

The kind of missing is just like one of the carbs is not getting enough fuel to sustain the demand and the more I think about it I'm almost convinced it's in the carbs.I started yesterdays ride with about a quarter tank of 2 week old gas and then topped it up at a service station with premium.Now I know that I've been told numerous times that the premium here in Canada doesn't have the dreaded ethanol in it but I'm not so sure.I guess I will have to do some wrenching and see what is going on with the carbs and fuel system.A new set of plugs may be in order too.
