Hi guys!
Im in here looking for for some advice on the behalf of a friend.
Was running fine, out for a short ride with the family. Sled seized, he started it again, was kinda hard, but started and died.
I felt the primary clutch and it rotated right away, wasn't stuck.
Started again, and we noticed it only ran on two cylinders, the MAG is out.
Towed it home. Cylinder send't to get re nic'ed.

We've checked the carb, noting strange there..
We are uncertain of the function of the oil-pump. Can some one explain it?
Is the oil going from the oiltank, down to the pump.
From there:
-one hose to each crank/cylinder housing?
-two to the fuel pump for mixing in with the fuel?

Thanks alot!

I'll post some pics.

As in overheated due to lack of cooling?
The engine did not feel THAT warm, the spark plugs often feel very warm at these points, and I didn't perceive it like that.

Although it can have happened at an earlier occasion, right?
Because this trip was only about 10km, then a break, and then returning home and then the seizure happened about 2-3km on the way home.

Thank you for your input Nasty Viper!

detonation will super heat the piston and make it expand to the point there is no room for oil and we all know how the vipers like to detonate the mag piston and in most cases knocks out the lower rod bearing and pin.

I still think it could be cooling issue myself as dome and head look hot but show no sign of detonation.
I see spi pistons when was motor rebuilt

Had that happen to three pistons this winter, all Weiscos, and it was a cold seizure caused caused by a crack in the cylinder between the exhaust port and transfer port on the mag side cylinder of my 01 SRX.There was just enough heat from the exhaust coming in through the crack to swell the piston just enough to stick it in the bore. You have pretty much the same thing going on for one reason or the other,be it over heat from a coolant issue or not enough warm up time.

Alright guys thanks for your input!
I am aware that the Wisecos are notorious for cold seizes, but I didn't reflect upon this until my friend said that he had ordered them again, instead of just regular cast pistons, which are less prone to this problem.

Again, thanks for ýour input, keep em coming if you feel that you have more to contribute with!

Quick question, dropbox is a bit tricky to share pics with, are all of you seeing the images in my link?

Yupper seeing them just fine. I played around with drop box a while ago and didn't really care for its less than user freindy-ness. I use photo bucket, just copy and paste the IMG code. The pics upload to the site and are already saved on the site if you ever want to re-post them.
