Does anyone else have trouble with snow and weeds getting into the air filter on the 02 model? Every time i run it through drifts the filter gets full of snow. Where i live we dont get as much snow as some other people on this forum, so does anyone else have this problem? I thought snowmobiles were built to run through snow! Now it wont even start!
 
get the air duct prefilter for the hood pods (30.00), and the air box prefilter for the top of the air box (20.00). cheap insurance to keep crap off the filters and out of the box. ski
 
or these parts OE or can I find themelse where?
heard people talk about hte duct filters but have never saw them??
 
yamaha has the duct filters as an accy kit. i know mountain performance sells both. maxximum should have both as well. if you order through mountain perf, you only need the filters for the ducts not the whole kit that comes with the ducts. ski
 
you can order just the pre filters that install over the existing ducts from yammie, put them on last month and they work great
 
The kit is in the Yammie accessory catalog, they call it a deep snow kit or something like that.
 
the duct prefilters work good, but make sure you get the airbox filter, i had the same prob. problem solved!! i got mine from mountain performance. 19.95 .
 
my buddies viper was running like garbage this weekend after riding 30 mph for two hours in blizzard like conditions, he opened his hood and found like 1/2 inch of ice and snow on top of his airbox, it was like running with the choke on. Not the best design for the times when it is snowing or your busting powder.
