splitting case on 97 vmax 600 issues!!!!

Its out of sled, torn down to just the upper and lower case. The rewind, pump, and bracket has been removed. I can split it all the way on both sides but when I get to rewind side it gives me a fit....what am I not doing????

Stator....

The stator bolt is off and the stator is on the shaft. Its stuck on shaft and won't pull off....any ideas?

you must be talking about the flywheel..you need a puller, then the stator is underneath that

thats correct.Remove flywheel with a puller and then remove the stator,then you are ready to split the cases
