Sx Viper clutches

I'm wondering about yamahas primary and secondary clutches. I've done some research and It looks like yamaha has used the same or similar castings for their clutches for quite a few years. I need to replace both clutches on my 02 viper. Can anyone tell which models will be compatible? I've found lots of four stroke clutches that look exactly the same but worry that buying one and tearing into it will reveal some differences. I only need the castings after an unfortunate jack shaft incident. Any help would be much obliged.
 
I may be wrong but I believe the only differences in the body of the clutch itself is the outer cover,there is what's known as the tall cover used on the SRX and Viper triples which use the tall spring,and then there's the short cover/spring used on the other triples.I'm not sure what the 4 strokes use but the backing plate and sliding sheave should all be compatible.The only thing you'll have to do when ever you get your replacement parts is swap the rollers,weights and spring over to retain the correct calibration.

The secondarys I am almost sure are all the same casting,just different helix and spring.
 
If you go on the yamaha parts catalog and look up the clutch part #s for a viper clutch. Then the same part for another model sled. See if the numbers match. Don't quote me on this, but I THINK all trailing arm yamaha clutches and new are the same sheaves. Just different weights and springs accordingly. May be wrong though.
 
Look up Partzilla under oem parts select Yamaha snowmobile, then select your year of sled. When u choose a part from the diagram it will also show which other models use this same part number.
 
Sweet that's awesome. As soon as you click the part number it shows every compatible sled. This is exactly what I'm lookin for. Thank you stealther27!
