Difficulty fitting Viper skid in Vmax

Woops seen pics top of thread. You need to make sure you get W arm up above drivers to make room to fit it in. Then once in raise the rear end as though as needed and W arm will clear drivers to get it back into mounting holes. If that track is a 121 it will fit. It Looks new are you sure it's a 121 for 2.52 pitch drivers? The pitch of the track will mess ya up also. What did you get it off of?

Right or wrong here is how I do mine.

Hold rear high (3 feet) with a "Custom" 4x4 post with a notch cut in the top to hold the rear handle.
Push skid in with the track slightly out the opposite direction
Slide the front arm under the drive shaft
Work the skid into the track at that point
Once in, lift the rear of the skid and pull back into place under tunnel
Lay on ground and lift front arm into place and start bolts
Place a small floor jack under rear part of skid and raise skid to start center bolts
Continue raising skid to start rear bolts. This may take some light prying with a small wood dowl of some sort to get the "front to back" aligned
Lower jack and tighten all bolts. Don't forget the locktite.

While not the best for everyone, this has worked many, many times for me.

on my XT i just did similar to Confused. Pushed skid in under the drive cogs. aligned in track so slides are on clips. Lift back up pull skid back and work above shaft then into bracket. I bolt the front shaft then work my way back raising and lowering the back to get the holes where needed.

Hey Chris I think you were talking to someone who hijacked the thread. OP has the SX- the hijacker has a 95 pogo.

LOL your right. Good god this thread is a mess. Who needs help getting skid in? You have to drill new holes in pogo for proaction to fit. Sx chassi it is a direct swap. DONE! LOL

Okay you have to use a 128 inch track not the 121.
I was able to use the front torque arm holes in tunnel.
The rear 3 bolts but had to drill new holes for center.

I also had to turn down the torque arm shaft that the bolts go into.
Then modify the center shock rod.
The tunnels are not the same with!

I will post photos of this 1996 VMAX 2004 skid swap!

Mine is in BTW its a direct swap it was just a pain I remember... It was hijacked but that's all good. :)
