I found a number stamped on the tunnel and I'm not sure if its the VIN or what it is. Can someone tell me if the VIN was stamped on or if it was on a label and stuck on?

Should be located on the right side of the tunnel. Go to that yamaha site, click parts catalog and then type that in to the "search vehicle by vin" and see if it come up.

Well that's the Canadian one. Should take you to the home page, look for the parts catalog tab, should be around the center of the page.
