rear suspension/skid swap

Hey, hopefully someone can chime in with a step by step. I have a 97 vmax xtc 600 rear suspension was toast so I bought a 2002 viper skid that the guy said would just bolt right in......Well as you all know getting it out was easy, can anyone give me step by step procedure for putting it back in. I put the rear and middle set of bolts in without to much trouble but the front is out of position about 1".

1-does this bolt right in (without putting new holes)
2-do you put front or rears in first
3-do you use the sled lift or do it on its side?

Any advice will be appreciated (pics links etc.)

On my viper. I always went front, rear, middle. For bolts. I found it easyer to use a hoist in the rear bumber. That way u can go up or down as needed
 
I just did this on my sx! The vipers skid bolts right in. You need to pull out the front shock from the viper skid to make it work.
 
front always 1st. then i usually put the rear in. you then need a ratchet strap to collapse the shock enough to get the centre mount in. still have to do this to 3 more sleds this year still!
 
If you can't get the middle in, back the bolts out in the end of the transfer bar sliding section. That will unload the rear spring enough to get the middle in without fighting the spring.

It works, I take the bolts right out of the transfer rods much easier. I do front, middle, rear. Never had to remove a shock
 
Dang. I should've done the transfer rods instea of the front shock. It's frustrating when you get the whole skid in an bolted then you have to fight the front shock to get it attached again... Pain.
 
compressing the front swingarm with a floorjack will get the rear holes lined right up with the transfer rod bolts out also
 
Bolt in the front, middle then rear. Set your parking break and get a pipe and stick it through the window of the track and pry forward until the bolt whole for the back is lined up and insert bolt. do the same to both sides. I have had my suspension out tons of times. It works every time and you can do it by yourself

honestly that sounds like a pain in the *** more that anything and a easy way to break the fiberglass rods in the track
 
I got a 98 srx 700 and I just bought a 03 viper rear skid will this just bolt in? The guy said it would but I need a little help
 
Hmmm. If this a viper skid it will fit for sure, not sure what is wrong. Any pic's? Did you disasemble anything prior? Here is what ive done when by myself. Front first, then tip sled on its side and get the middle. Tipping on its side takes all the weight off the skid and makes getting the middle in easy. Then flip back over with the transfer rod bolt backed all the way out. Slowly lower skid and tighten bolts on transfer rods till hole lines up. You may need a extra hand to push into place but it will go. You can even do the rear bolts with sled on side.
