SX Skid Bushings.

How many bushings are used in mounting the rear skid in a 99 SX 600? I know that there is two bushings with collars that go on the larger idler wheels in the very back mounting point,, but what about the mid mounting point and up at the front,, Is there bushings that need to be installed?
I would assume that there Would be, to keep the skid from moving side to side... but my skid has 1 bushing,, and when the skid is installed, with the track loose, I can shift the entire skid side to side about 3/4 to an inch,,, does not seem right to me at all... :o|

let me also include, that I bought the sled used and after i got it home, I have found Nothing but Problems and stuff done Incorrectly. the skid had been removed prior to my purchase,, but I Highly doubt that it was re-installed correctly, given the fact that everything else I have discovered about this sled to be wrong.. I am still hopeful that after I go through it, It will be a good sled which keeps me going on it.

The skid has a total of 6 mounting points, I have 1 bushing out of 6 lol... is there supposed to be 6? or is there only the 2?
Any info would be greatly appreciated. I try to look up the part numbers, but there is no image, so I don't know what i am looking at, it just has a "genuine yamaha part" pic. Anybody have a skid sitting around that can snap a pic of how it is supposed to be? Thanks
 
^^^^ Great Info in those links above! After reading,, I did some looking around and noticed that my W arm bushings are whomped out as well.. One more thing to replace. Im still kind of lost on the bushings though.

These are the bushings in question. Are these type of bushings also used on the front and mid mounting points?

I haven't had a stock skid in my sleds for a few years now, but I think that middle looks fine, but the w-arm shaft looks like you're missing the plastic bushing. It's not metal like the one you have in your hand it fits into the end of the tube & the shaft rides on it.

Correct.

You will need 2 top w arm bushings with washers, 2 carrier wheel bushings (big ones rear mounting point). 4 w arm bushings (where the w arm mounts on skid). I have never had to replace the bushings that are at the middle mounting point. Also check the bushings in the shock mounts themselves. You can either get them piece by piece through dealer or order kit from pioneer http://pioneerperformance.net/store/page3.html you want them for proaction aluminum shock kit. This will have every bushing on the whole skid for a hundo! Might be the way to go as your skid sounds worn out. Get the new bushings and then do the BTV trick and it will be like new. Those big metal bushings your holding are collars for mounting. Only on the rear mount. The bushings are all plastic and require you to take the skid apart to replace.
 
Thanks for the input you guys. I have since went through out pretty much the entire skid and replaced and "shimmed" the bushings that needed to be and ordered the ones that i was missing. Im only waiting for the #15 bushings and then the skid will be pretty much good as new and back under the sled where it belongs! :sled1:
