Picked up a 2001 vmax 500 deluxe for my son. Battery was dead, tach, reverse beeper, and fuel gauge didn't work, kill switch broke off.
Replaced Battery. Tach, beeper, and fuel gauge all work fine.
Changed the bad handgrips and throttle/kill switch assembly (used).
Everything worked fine.
2 days go by and new battery is dead. Key was off.
Thoughts? Shouldn't the tach work if battery was dead?
