Which ever sled is set up properly will win. I don't think you need any other mods.
I ride with a friend with almost the same setup as that XC you described, an our multiple races throughout the year weren't even close. He said he had the correct clutch setup for his sled, and was always tinkering to make it closer, but didn't help much.
He sold it and picked up a 05 Mach Z for this year. Now I might have a problem lol. But still feel confident as I believe a well maintained/setup sled will take down a bigger sled. We'll see soon.
