comet clutch identification

it says right on the front cover plate, its stamped in the metal on the 102, the cover plate is differnt on the 108,its aluminum,the diameter of the clutch is also bigger.

Post a pic of what you have.
 
so this must be a 108 then? no numbers and aluminum cover. its pretty dirty but seems to engage ok.bushing between sheaves is a bit rusty and cleaned the best i could with fine sandpaper. has a moroon or dull red spring in it. engages around 3700-3800. what clean up/work can be done with the clutch on the sled? what about lube? sleds got some motor work done bored but not sure how far,twin psi pipes 130 psi in each hole . which puller do i need if i need to remove

you might be able to get puller from like dennis kirk

I would take it off and bead blast that whole clutch and then see what arms are in it and spring then make some adjustments to suit your hopped up engine, I would think youd need around 400004200rpm engagement speed and then whatever rpm the pipes run at for your shift speed. i have all the comet chearts to match the springs with weights etc, so I can help when your ready to put it back togehter, it needs a good cleaning for sure.

no lube...

Not really,I have mine set up that way using a Yami YXR clutch. It doesnt engage hard and works great. I'd have to check my notes but I think PSI recommends 4800 for the twin pipes. Low rpm engagement makes those pipes turds and useless.

Just checked my notes and PSI recommends a 40-4,100 engagement RPM. Honestly, I really like a 5,000 go number as its a lot of fun.
