Hi guys,
I'm right in the middle of switching my track out and in doing so I have to change the drivers from 9T to 8T. I have the press and I've already removed the 9T, I marked where they were but I have 2 issues I am running into since the 8T drivers are thinner (in the area that mounts on the drive shaft).
1. How do I make sure I have the drivers located in the correct position left to right? The chain case side has to have more length left over than the clutch side, but I don't know how much.
2. One of the outside drivers is loose enough that I can slide it by hand, is there a way to fix that or do I need to get a new one
*I just realized I don't have the collars that are supposed to be on located on the outside of the outer drivers...shouldn't I have them? I've been running my sled for the last 8 years this way and never seemed to have a problem.

Installing the drivers to the correct distances from the end of the shaft is very important. You absolutely do not want friction where the driver is in the wrong position left or right rubbing on the rubber lugs. The proper location requires accurate measurement.
If you get this wrong come installation day you will see your mistake only after the jack-shaft is reinstalled. Also carefully inspect how your new track rides left or right nested within your new drivers. If you don't like the position remove and adjust. You will notice an allowance where the track can move left or right without binding
Nail this part of your project for best results. ---mac---

if you can move the drivers by hand they are junk they will instantly move out on the shaft and screw up your track as well, sounds like you reused drivers or/and they are not for your shaft size, so youll need to replace those with new.

this is exactly what I was looking for as for measurements...as for the bad driver I figured I needed a new one. Thanks for the help! This is why TY is the best!
