2001 Srx-it's All In The Traction?

Hi,
I have a 01 srx, and realize that if you can't hook, forget it.
I have the stock track for this year,192 studs, transfer rods, and
raced 2 xc 800's. they are easy, whether or not I get the holeshot or not.
But my buddies xcr 800 is a different story. whoever gets the holeshot
wins. there is a lot of loose snow now, when it packs down I think i can get him. Never had a sled where snow conditions played such a part. don't even dare run a firechicken, cause those paddle tracks would eat me up. anyone else have similar experience?
 
yep sure am, its kinda like tryin to suck cement threw a straw..............never happen, i lost my 1-1/4 due to a broken front shock and now im running my stock one with 192 studs, big big differance!!!!!! but get them out on the lake
 
I have a 1.25 ripsaw on mine and even still the SRX has way too much torque out of the hole. I am thinking of throwing 144 Megabites in and see if that helps, but I am a big guy and dont want to tear the shit out of my tunnel.

Last year out on White Lake (lower MI), I was able to launch ahead and run away from all the F7s out there. I was out last Sunday and things were much different. I couldn't make it close if my life depended on it. The difference,....snow conditions. On firm snow, the srx leans back, transfers, and smokes. In loose snow, it trenches and throws a 100 foot rooster. The 1.375" F7 tracks were gone!
 
I run a 1.5 cupped paddle on my 01 and it works awesome in everything but icy conditions. I almost always get the holeshot and then start pulling away fast. This track does take about 10mph off top end but it will still top out the dream meter. ===SRXSRULE===
 
I went to a 3/4" track with 192 1-1/8" studs - I try to only race on hard pack, and I rarely get holeshoted - holeshot (just like any racing) is everything
 
This year i put a 1 inch preditor track in my 01 srx what a difference i think that i've lost a few mph off my top end but thats ok compared to the extra traction.Last year on deep snow or on lake and trail i could not tough my buddy's mxz 800 out of the hole or in the mid but now i just kill him from start to finish.My next challange is my uncles 00 xcr 800 on the trail i can take him but the 2000 foot race is yet to be done
 
my one inch predator definately didn't lose any top speed compared to the stock track, but it sure made it accel. a lot better
 
THis is gonna be short since I've got to run but I pulled the Ripsaw out of my 04 Viper-s in favor of a 9830 with 144 Roetin Hornets and in loose snow conditions the Ripsaw is way better but will slog you down a bit on the top end. I still wish I'd just gone and studded the Ripsaw instead of trying this 9830 track, (not enough traction).
