ok,a bit of an update...I assumed the problem Im having was all 3 carbs but its not. should've don't this earlier but...at idle its not running right so I pulled 1 plug wire at a time. it runs on the mag and center but not the clutch cyl. I can hear the spark arc between the plug and wire when held close but no fire on that cyl. I have to pull the carbs off to replace the missing fuel screw washer and will go through that clutch side carb and try to find the problem. must not be getting fuel until the throttle is opened up. any pointers or things to look for? thanks,Al

open that clutch side carb and take it COMPLETELY apart. floats, check the top hat filters, main jet, fuel screw and pilot jet. then spray carb cleaner every where. when spraying it through the pilot circuit, you should see a fine spray come out of the little hole in the carb throat on the outflow side of the carb, if not -->clean till you do. make sure you can see right through the pilot jet by holding it up to the light. spray carb clean and compressed air into the fuel screw hole too. what condition is the tip of the fuel screw in? if its bent or nicked it can cause problems, if its okay install and set to 1.5 turns out. check the float height too.
You do have spark on all 3? Have you tried a different plug? New plugs can be bad. Hows the compression?

ok,I think I found the problem, its 2 fold. the tiny washer and o ring on the fuel screw for that carb were not in right. they are now! second I think the air jet in the throat of the carb was plugged.its not any more! roudy, im not sure what your referring to with the top hat filter? mes, I have good spark across and switched the plugs around to be sure. the carbs are back together and im about to put them back in. man those carb boots are a bitch to get back on right. I hope this is it cause im getting tired of the whole carb on carb off thing.

The top hat filters sit on top of the needle and seat, they don't usually cause a problem on low end, but I always clean them.

ok this just got weird. the thing still runs like crap down low but flys on the top end. when I got back I pulled the clutch side wire while running and the engine rpm slowed.now the problem moved to the mag side.then it moved back to the clutch. it jumps inbetween all 3 cylinders sometimes only 1 will run. the cylinders that wont run still get spark the whole time. could the cdi box be bad and sending mistimed spark to the coils? I may start a new thread to try to get some more info on cdi troubleshooting as not much shows up in the search.
a thought has crossed my mind.
How is the hose on the pulse line to the fuel pump? how is the fuel pump/possible fuel entering the crankcase through the pulse hose.
Could you tell the problem in a small video? If so do you have a way to post it?

Is the flywheel really rusty?...,. That had caused me problems before
