FINALLY got to work on the SRX

Brought the old girl in the garage this evening to get it ready to ride.Like usual cleaned the carbs good.Pulled the PV's out and to my surprise they were very clean from last season.I have been running Yamalube and seems to be fine.Got them adjusted properly.The PV cables are still holding up,compared to a few season's back where my PV's that were machined with stainless steel ends were cutting the cables on the slot .There is no such thing as a pull through anymore which is excellent.
BUT want to give a WARNING to ALL of you guys who has PV ends done with SS by Yamahead.Check that the SS bolt doesn't start to unscrew from the valve.One of my valves had the SS bolt backing out.So I red loctited it back in.This may cause disaster perhaps as it unwinds itself from the valve.
Got to change chaincase oil yet,put pipes back on and re pack the jackshaft and drive bearings and I am ready to go.The snow is starting tonight,so that is a bonus..
 
Great tip blue as I'm also running the inserted PV's and wondered that same thing.

Also, I've ran strictly Yamalube in my sled since new, and have to say it does a great job on keeping the valves clean. I let my valves go for 4000/4500 miles once and they had minimal buildup.

wow that is good to hear,can't wait to stretch the legs on the old girl again.
 
I ve ran amsoil,klotz, yamalube, all in different srx's... The yamalube was just as good if not better on the PV's than the the high dollar oil.. Some will argu but go with what works. This was just my opinion.
 
well went for a ride today and SRX ran flawless.Sure love the arm stretching power and damn sled looks good on the snow to boot.Sure still could use a lot more snow here,running on grass and dirt to get to the River today.This river is very twisty and loved running it.Especially in the corners,sled really rides like it was on rails,and the studs sure did help in the corners also.Put on 61 miles today ,was cloudy out but better then cold out.
