Viper Top Speed

I have an 03 Viper with a Maximun performance Viper power kit, Boysen reed valves and an M-10
Top speed is 93 on hard packed trails. Is there anything i can do to improve that?
 
What I hear all the time is to get the expert X suspension...better weight transfer, better for more rugged riding and effects the top end minimally. You could probably get rid of that M-10 for a good price to minimize any loss if you decide to switch.
 
Ran a radar run on pretty glare ice with temperatures hovering around the freezing mark. Sled is stock other than 144 studs... ran quite strong and topped out at 114 mph!!! (longer than 2000 feet)... was definately top speed. Dream meter was reading (126 mph/196 kmh). So it was closer reading in kmh but still quite far off. Ran concsistently around 112 - 114. Great top end for a stock viper from what i have been reading :WayCool:
 
There's no way I am getting rid of the M-10. I will sacrifice top end for it. I was just wondering if there were any adjustments that can be done to help improve top end.
 
Newbie, Do you have an m-10? have you done any actual testing? I have, and the top speed loss thing is B.S. Keep the m-10, I put the big wheel kit on mine and saw no inprovement in top speed, didn't have a loss to begin with. Do you have the classic over rev that vipers have at top speed? Your clutches are not shifting out probably cause of the setup on vipers is an 8EK weight and they don't have a good top speed profile. Ask Turk what a good setup is! He will probably tell you something like 8DN-20's (profiled more for top speed) with a shallower finish angle helix. As always check clutches for wear, and clean them. Boysen reeds kill top end, at least they did in my formula 3, I put stock reeds back, and bamo, gained 300 rpm right away. Don't over tighten your track. ;):D
 
The top end over rev seems to help the 114mph Viper..YPS is turning almost 9k!!

Completely stock my Gauges read 115MPH at 9100RPM. I am not sure how inaccurate either gauge is, but that is what it did. No studs, stock track, on flat lake with 3" of hard pack snow 3.0 Miles long held steady all the way across. It was -20 degrees F. I ran the entire lake that day 4 times and had the same readings each time. Stopping with no studs was a whole different story! Stopped like a freight train on ice!
 
sunday jan 30 i went to radar run..bender piped viper ohlin m-10 suspension out of 54 sleds i was fourth fastest at 108.4 at 660 feet...was beat by a rev 800 with nos.a thundercat with alot of work done and a mazh z.the rev 800 was fastest at 112.7.m-10..properly set up will not lose top speed...gps on island pond was 121.2...fast enough for me!!! by the way...my speedo is way off...it read 133!!!
 
I have the overrev problem on lakes as well pulling 9000 to 9100 rpm.It works 8500 for about 1/4 to 1/2 miles then creeps up.I have stock everything except a Dalton 53/41 helix and green yammie spring 6-1 twist, is this normal or do I need a torque limiter.New belt doesn't help.Any answers?
