If the spark plug wire is in poor shape, one could supplement it with heat shrink. Or I have also slid a section of 1/4 or 5/16ths fuel hose over the entire wire. Usually it's the black reinforced stuff that has ply cured in it.

WOW! Great pictures! That cottage & the view are spectacular! Great work on the sled. I owned on of those 600xts, nice sled. But I sold it and moved up to a 700 Mountain Max with a 144" 2.25" track.

on the roof, there was not much .... the ground, a little more ... the balcony is 2.5m ( 8ft ) from the ground, and he has his feet in the snow, lol

in France, sled is illegal outside the ski areas.
and these areas, they are used for rescue and supply the mountain restaurants. so you have to work in a ski resort.
Utilities vocations, no machine like mine lol
apart from that, it is forbidden everywhere, not immatriculable and uninsurable.
the mayor of my town is pretty cool, it tolerates my sled to go to my cottage if I destroy nothing!
 
jetting carbs :
on my 600 vmax xt 96, I have set up low-altitude (stock, 152.5), needles too and I ride between 1000m (3300ft) and 2000m (6600ft).
So, I'm too rich.
on the data sheet of yam, it says between 147.5 and 146.3 and needles a step up from stock for this altitude.
but now, I mounted twin pipes AAEN and Aaen said to put 2 points higher compared to the stock.

questions is:

is what I can try with the low altitude adjustment without any risk to my engine?
it will not be too lean ?
for me , I think not because I should have 149.5 (147.5 set up high altitude + 2 points) instead of 152.5.
I have to touch the needles?

what a change!

I put 155 but that is not enough, needles in the middle, the color of the candle is pretty good but the piston is very dry, I prefer to enrich for safety, 158 or 160, then refine with needles.

when I make a start screeching (drag) ,
the machine does not start strong while the rpm is good,
then suddenly, powwww is a scud !!
I noticed traces down in the lower primary.
belt slipping.
spring too hard?
not enough weight on the ramps?
All bushings are new and the belt too.

Looks really nice. Could you snap a few pictures of your holes that were relocated for the skid. I made a 2 in drop plate and that made the rear stick up rediculously high.

sorry, I do not have the machine under the eyes, I just these 2 photos where we see the holes in the rear fixings,
I went down until the angle of the tunnel , approx 1 ".
and went down to half the central fasteners to keep a correct geometry.

yes, rear bracket still attached to the tunnel.
in fact, I put at the bottom of the tunnel so that the screws pass, and approx 1 " I think.
I did not want higher for remain stable.
