The only reason I question the set up is that a wider belt will give you a higher ratio at full shift due to the angle and spacing of the sheaves at 100% closed tight. You could shim your primary clutch for a 1'' belt if you want, but you would only use a 1/4 of the primary sheaves' diameter, basically being stuck in first gear. Get what i'm saying?? If it works for you, it works and thats all that matters, but I think you may be leaving a bit of top end on the table. For kicks do the sharpie trick with your new belt. You should be able to wipe the sheave clean if your shifting out 100%.
