Does yamaha have something in the works?

When you see other companies like polaris coming up with new cool stuff every year it must be disapointing to be brand loyal to yamaha. That axys rmk is amazing
 
Bring back the srx in a very angry 1100 two stroke, put the cats in there place on the ice and put the two stroke back on top, 136, rideable suspension, 200hp, and a sweet new approach to front suspension maibe, one for trail one for the lake and one for the mountain boys in mountain srx name!
 
Vector/viper/nytro engine is now a 12 year old engine (besides efi updates) time for a all new direct injected, variable valve timed, EXUP equiped, more efficient, more powerful engine. The technology has been out for years and yamaha has experience with these making/co-designing performance engines for toyota.
 
Ya those things are nice but they add weight.The current motors will carry on(Yamaha got close to 25years out of the 485cc phazer engines),there still are ahead of the competitions thumpers.If we do see a new motor it will be the FZ-09 tripleView attachment 57957(115hp),throwback to your 700SX.Starting to think when we see a new chassis for these its going to come from japan and not TRF(arctic cat has its own kymco 65hp twin for next year,no phazer motor for them,yamaha installs new lighter skid in delta box sleds from japan,sighting of all new apex prototype near its testing facility in the WI,all new VKproII).Lets hope they can trim more weight of a new chassis,and carry across the model line(Too many chassis is what got them in trouble,too much cost),a new skid that's 10lbs lighter is a nice start.

"add weight" would probably add under 5lbs but gain 15+hp And make it quite a bit better on gas while trail riding.
 
Well look at that, it was BIG! New-ish VK PRO! YAMAHA is firmly comitted to 4-stroke technology so don't expect to see any two stroke sleds anytime soon, maybe never. I was told that all YAMAHA's two stroke engineers have died/retired/moved on. I don't think the POLARIS axys is anywhere close to amazing. The new rmk is basically just new skin and those wonky rear skid models they can keep them and cram them so far up where the sun don't shine. UGLEE! Rode the 2014 VIPERS and THAT was amazing. Uncanny on the bottom, two stroke like even. Handles and tracks through chop and chatter like nothing I have ever ridden. It doesn't even feed back through the bars. I WANT ONE!

I really think the Phazer needs a restyle, its UGLEE! They can cram that minimalist styling, never liked it. Great sled, but eeewww, a face only a mother could love. I bet if they made it look cool they would sell way more of them. I also think they need an entry level sled in the 60 hp range desperately. There has to be something between the 120 and Phazer. Got a little 95 lb girl here with Phazer mountain and she honestly cannot learn technique on that sled. Too top heavy, if it falls on its side, she cannot right it by herself. That is unacceptable. We're getting her a Phazer II to learn on!

I have faith in YAMAHA as I know they are committed to quality and I would take a first year YAMAHA product over any of the brand X stuff any day! Remember, Poo's 800 is new, again, since it has been such a POS to date. So now you trust em?!? The ROTAX 800 is disposable according the local engine shops and my 98 SRX eats them. Plus don't hit anything with that doo, EVER! They fold up in the stubble! I love the tech in the new 600 Cat engine. But there's no way YAMAHA will build anything like that for sleds. They will continue with 4 stroke sleds and they will get lighter and better as time goes by as they have done up to date. Yes YAMAHA has industry changing tech sitting on the shelf that they have not released, that's called marketing.
