Good luck, That's sounds like a pretty tall gear for a 600. I hope it works. Keep us posted. I see on your other post that you ran 98 mph, that's pretty good. if your sled is stock
Little heavy with a silver spring?
Yes the sled is stock. the 98 mph I ran was a different setup and 23/39 gears Tomorrows race is 40.00 to run all day so I am gonna use it as a test and tune day I can always go back to my 98mph setup I write every combination down to remember what worked and why otherwise I would forget what I tried

Ran today. not good no matter what i did it wouldnt go over 8260rpm went back to 23/39 gears pulled hard 200ft at 8260 then dropped down to 7800 then slowly climbed to 8100 and was the best it ran all day got first place at 97.9mph but still upset with sled

Congrats on first place. Your close on your clutching. Just have to keep testing. Probably would have run 100 mph or better if clutching was spot on.
The weird part is no matter what gram weight i used the rpm didnt change

I've had better luck using shallower finish angles with bu10s. 37 finish with a green spring has worked best for me. That's been on 700s though

i liked your setup, this is a 600 srx thats peak is 8350. i agree with jeff, i tested the 8bu-10 more than any weight out there stay with them. try a helix with lower finish. 3;16 (yammie tony)
Todays results tried every combination of helixs and springs and degree wraps we could while using the8bu-10 weights, we tried diferent 89a weights with all combos, nothing we did would get our target rpm (8500)( 99 600), then we went the other way and tried 89a weights at 56 grams, gwg spring, 48/38 secondary with pink spring @50 wrap and won, BUT, only turned 8070 rpms, it pulled hard from start to finish, we ended up with 96.41mph with 23/39 gearing, it felt like it ran out of gear about 800ft out, might try 23/37 or 38 or 24/ 39 if I can find gears, we raced against a 25-30 mph head wind at 20 below wind chill, COLD COLD COLD, I kept telling myself I'm having fun. The 89a10 are very good. With some tinkeing youll find very good mph with those. What other helix angles do you have to choose from??
you may want to try a set of 8bu-00 with empty pivot hole,2.4 rivet in the tip, (45/136kg)G/W/G primary spring and 48/40 rear helix with green dot sec spring at 50-60 twist, 23/37 gearing. track tight. walk it out softly before putting the coals to it...

Have you tried a green spring. If your running a pink spring that is real stiff for radar runs. I'd tried my bu"s this weekend, my weights are 49. 8 grams with ywy & pulling 8200.
