Bogging on hill decent

Hi Folks,

New to the Site as well as sledding in general. I have recently acquired a 02 VMAX 600 and in a recent ride with a buddy, I experienced something that I am not sure is normal. We were traveling through a section of trail that went through some valleys and on a particularly steep decent, the sled bogged down at the bottom as if the clutches were spinning too fast or too low (I have no clue) and I had to let the sled return to idling rpms before power was immediately restored. Everything about this sled has been great with plenty of power except for this occurance. Do I have anything to worry about here? Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Just an wild stab in the dark...... Secondary issues. IE..worn bushing or mabey a spring.

Do you mean the engine lost power and wouldn't pull any RPM's until you let it idle for a few? If that's the case then it sounds like a TORS issue, Throttle Override System. Search on here will yield plenty of reading on it.

I was thinking that by the sound of it, the secondary might have got stuck in the open position.

I would try clutch springs as well as they might be out of spec for best performance.

Thanks for the info guys. Based on what I have read about the TORS system, I think that is the issue as once the Rome returned to idle, all power was restored. Checked the throttle freeplay tonight and it was 4mm instead of the 1-2mm as the service manual suggests. Readjusted it and will see what happens. I read a bunch of posted info stating that you should loosen the throttle cable however, figured I would go with the suggested specs.
