W-s-w for long cap spring has same specs as for short cap. Why can't he just use the long spring. Pretty sure you can. Get in there and list what the weights are for more pointers.

That what I was thinking. As Mr Sleds chart states 2001 SXR 22/39 gear 1997 SX 23/40 gear stockYou know.. I do believe the last owner telling me the skid on my sled was out of an SXR... I wonder if it has a handful of other SXR parts on there..

I know the ratio on gearing is close 22/39=1.773, 23/40=1.739 but would alter RPM slightly. I would see what secondary spring you have also( green was stock for both. Spring twist I would start at 60-70 deg. holes 3&3 or 1&6 respectfully.
