Help help help! Modded phazer parts and questions

Ok here goes my story. I just purchased a 1998 phazer mountain lite that was advertised as having a bad piston. I have a solid history of phazers and bought it knowing that I could rebuild it and have a nice phazer long track. We have done lots of pipes, carb mods, clutching and etc. in the past. Well when I picked up this sled I learned that it wasn't your average phazer motor. It has an aaen loud pipe, v max carbs, long y pipe and v force reeds. That stuff I am familiar with. But what I am not familiar with is it also has a 3/4 in deck plate raising the cylinders, and using longer rods but a stock crankshaft from what I see. The intake and exhaust ports are cleaned up, and the transfers opened up. All using stock weisco pistons. The vmax carbs also have injectors on the back side. I am not sure if that was for a dial a jet or power jet. It all looks like very professional work. My biggest question is if anyone has seen this type of work on a phazer before and who designed the long stroke kit?

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated

I thought I saw the sled you are talking about for sale a while back and I was kind of baffled on why this was done ....while longer rods will slow piston speed and the stroke is still 59.6 not to mention adding case volume .........
 
I have found a couple leads on the engine. I haven't nailed it down completely yet but I believe the engine was an experimental engine built by hanson racing. There really is some nice workmanship on the cylinders, deck plate, y pipe and so on. I just don't know yet how it works. I will update when I have more answers

Please tell more about this Long Y-pipe for the Phazer's ??

3/4" thick spacer plate, you mean .750"?? I have stroked 3 cyl engines and at the most I use a .250 or 1/4" plate thats going from a 64mm stroke crank to a 70mm stroke. A longer y pipe would lower rpm.......
I kinda doubt its the stock stroke with a 3/4" spacer under the cylinders would put the cylinders up way,way high and the longer rods would be needed to time the piston, get it to work within the port windows but...as mentioned it would slow down the piston speed alot. I cant really grasp the engine set up from the description as to what benefit it would have been made for.

Did you check the bore size and stroke?
 
Not sure if this is anything related to what you have or not. I have a SRV that has a deck plate.500 it is stock stroke but much bigger bore. Comes out to 600 cc The cyl. have been welded up and widened so the ports have a much more "C" shape and are bigger. The deck plate help the bottom make that transition

I have found more information on my engine. This engine was built by hanson racing. They made about thirty of them. They called it a long rod engine produced in the mid 90s. It is bored 40 over, I told your wrong about the y pipe, it is shortened 3/8 of an inch, not longer. The rods and deck are 5/8 of an inch longer, cylinders are ported to match, compression is supposed to be at 142, The crank is standard and not stoked. Many thoughts behind this engine, like slowing piston speed will help get rid of detination, less rod angle, less side pressure on the piston, supposed to be able to run 8000ish rpms. It even has a special fan shroud that is lifted to match the cylinder height. All the workmanship is excellent. It is gonna be fun to learn and see how this works.
