Hey guys, I'm looking at dropping in a new rear suspension in my 2001 SRX 700. I was planning to get an SC3 or SC4, but now I've found a 2005 Polaris M10 for a fair price. How do these compare to each other? That M10 seems to be the best price, but I'm also wondering if I need to buy the mounting kit from Teamfast or if I can do what I need by myself? It came out of a 2005 Indy Classic. Thanks!

m10 robs top speed big time and has almost no transfer but it sure does ride awesome!!!. sc3 or sc4 are okay suspensions as well, i tihnk they work really good along with a rev but i dont think they are that great for ifs bar sleds. Look up edge skid for yours, pretty easy install, parts are cheap and they work very well.

Thanks for the info. I'm having trouble finding some of the edge skids in the $300 range. Any recommendations on where I should be looking?

Locally if you dont wana pay a massive shipping fee. Find one with a clicker shock or atleast the rebuildables.

Any particular years to target? Are there different names for it? I often see pro-x but think that is different?
Get the m10. Rides like a Cadillac. An m10 and a boss seat and you will be in HEAVEN! My SRX has a mono and it's nice, but my GFs with a m10 is much nicer. You might lose a MPH or two up top, but its hardly noticeably....where do you ride 90% of the time???...if you are looking at a better suspension then my guess its not at WOT?

I know the M10s are different from the Polaris. But is a 2005 one from a Polaris still good for an M10? I'd also still consider a edge skid if I could find one under $400, but I've had no luck. I like aggressive trail riding and a little playing on the lakes in the powder and some short high-speed runs, but 85-90% of my riding is trails. I just want better suspension so I don't have a sore neck/back when I ride with my friends.
I have one from a Polaris and one that was from team. I believe the only difference is springs/shocks. Unless you get one of the older metric models. Check the skid thoroughly...The lower shock shafts are often bent. Parts add up quick $$$

Edge. cheap, easy to find parts, easy installation, bulletproof, multiple shock and spring options, great ride. (coming from person with little experiance with the m10)

M-10 is great for bumps. But transfer is lacking. If I had to do it over I would personally look for a sc3. But that's only from reading about the skidoo skid.

It seems like they are all better than the NoAction! I can get that Polaris 05 M10 for $300 so that seems like the best deal. I looked for an Edge skid but couldn't find any. Is the Pro-X the same or different?

Does anyone have any information about installing the Mid 2000s Polaris M10 without the mounting kit from Team Fast? The mounting kit will cost as much as the suspension itself. I thought I read I can use the front hole as is and drill a new hole for the rear (and use the same bracket), but I'm not sure if I would need to reinforce the tunnel there or what the measurements would be. If there are links out there on what I should read, I would definitely appreciate it. Thanks guys.
Do some searching, it is on this forum some where. I did what you are talking about.

I couldn't find them searching on the forum, but using google seemed to work. I found a few articles. There's one thing I don't understand though and haven't been able to find out. Some people talk about using the front shaft from an RX-1, but it doesn't seem to be required? Does anyone know if that's needed or what my options are? Does that matter on a Polaris M-10 vs. a Teamfast M-10? Thanks for all the help.

I just removed my front mounts and relocated them forward. I was able to just catch the rear mount as it was. I don't know what a mounting kit all consists of but I think you can do without it. I am not using any of the skids mentioned. I like even cheaper. See my thread TSL in SRX. I just did it today or the 7th. It is great!(from the 50ft I tested).

Thanks for the info, Viktory. I checked out your thread. It all makes sense to me now, other than I'm still not sure if I should order an RX-1 front shaft for the Polaris M-10. Anyone know?

I don't know why the rx-1 drive is needed. I looked at both and pretty much the same(03 rx-1 and 01 srx). The rx-1 had the same drivers as the srx except 1 choice the drives were way more expensive on the rx-1. The only think I can think of is reverse on the rx-1 or something. The unloaded shaft was a different part number only because from what I could see is the rx-1 didn't have the "Connector" so it must be built in. I think its where the speedo link goes. The drive with the zoomed in part on the rx-1 was more expensive what ever it is. I wouldn't buy the drive until you get skid and see whats not right if anything. $300 for a 05 skid is a good deal, very good, unless there is a crack somewhere and of course the guy took the good shocks and wheels off and put bad ones on. Of all the skids I've bought on ebay, only one had good shocks and that was the latest one. All had at least half of the bearings/wheels shot. That stuff ads up quick.(especially since I just was looking at billet rear wheels for the srx at $80 a piece) The right pic is a srx. I see no major difference except the rx-1 had 2 choices for drives and one was the same part number as the srx and the other one was like $110 each. Gotta have something to do with reverse. Sorry if I keep repeating myself. Let 'er rip!

That's not talking about the RX-1 drive shaft, it's talking about the shaft on the suspension.
The difference between the shafts is that the RX-1 has a digital gauge with a splined pick up on the end of the shaft, instead of the insert with a mechanical gear.

Yeah, I was thinking about the one on the suspension. But my last post probably didn't make that very clear! I"m trying to determine if that's needed for the Polaris M10, or if that's only used on Fast M10s.

I ended up buying an SC4 skid this past weekend. Got a good deal on it and I was having trouble getting the M10, so I'm pretty excited. I'm replacing a few bearings and had to order some of the mounting bolts for it. Does anyone know where I can find all the dimensions? I know the CTC is 23 7/16", but I don't know the distance from the front drive shaft to the front mount, if I can use any of the existing mounts, or the distance from each mount to the tunnel. I'm assuming it's on dootalk somewhere, but if someone has a link with this info I would greatly appreciate it!
