I want to put 700 srx cylinders on my 600 srx bottom end, are the powervalves the same or do I have to get different power valves, also, is the crankcase the same?

Case is the same. Valves are specific to the bore size

I did not know they ran a different CDI. Different timing?

Yes, 600 timing is more advance. It can be used as a race cdi, but you wouldn't want to trail ride it all the time.

I have everything to do the swap. if you are interested, pm me
why couldn't a guy just bore the 600 out to a 700, renick, install new pistons and rings and done,

you could... but youd also need to machine the powervalves for a bigger radius of the 700 bore, then machine the heads to work with 700 bore. bore each cylinder $40, renick $160 each so thats $200 in each cylinder = $600 in 3 cylinders...plus the machine work for the powervalves and heads($200) so it wouldnt be very cost effective in the end=$800 topend with no pistons and rings yet..

It would be a lot cheaper to buy all the 700 stuff and recover a good portion of your money by selling your 600 stuff
what does port matching involve, I have been told it can create some good gains in power and still be considered stock and is it cheaper than a full on porting job? maybe I should try this instead.

Wow! adds up fast there! I'd be afraid to run a 600 CDI in a 700. I could see a fuel change to higher octane.

no such thing as port matching and being considered stock, not in any isr sanctioned racing. If your racing stock class and want to be able to pass tech you cant grind on the cylinders.

I have run the 600 CDI on a few different 700s. ALWAYS run 93 in ALL my SRX's. To do it "safely" you need to re-jet carbs for the advanced timing.....Never really went WOT down any rivers/lakes or more than a mile at a time on any trail and never had any problems *DISCLAIMER* Use 600 box at your own risk on 700.

Used a 600 box in my 780 motor for years. Worked great. Jet/fuel for the motor and it is reliable as an anvil

the srx 600 cdi box has just a little more ign timing in the midrange then the 700 does, but it also opens the powervalves sooner at a lower rpm.

93 Octane would work with one of these? Is it worth it to run that CDI. Opening the pv's sooner sounds like you would lose some midrange to me. Thanks for the disclaimer. I liked that! Would that be something I could consider with what we talked about mrviper?

Yeah people that follow half the directions and ruin stuff and then get all mad and start finger pointing saying "So and so said it was OK" really annoy me. Don't remember which clutch set up but I got it off from here. That and the 600 CDI and geared down a little bit makes it pull from 0-60 like RIGHT NOW. Great for a ditch banger or corner to corner sled that runs out of legs right about where an average SRX just starts to stretch their legs.
