Black head on a 2001 SXR700?

Does anyone recognize this? I want to go look at this sled but now I dont know after the guy sent me pics of the engine

It's a redhead painted black.

The SX venom was a viper with a redhead in it but it's a 600, you could use one but the squish band would need to be recut for a 700

looks like it was painted black at some point with some bad paint.

I saw one that was burned down that apparently cooked all the red paint off once...

I wonder if a head could ever be reused in such a case?

You can have a machine shop flatten the head then re-cut the squish band. If you get it that hot it's gonna be warped.

They should've powdercoated it so it looked actually nice

Looks like it was vary hot and burnt the paint off.
