I am doing research on the Mountain Max driveshaft/drivers and could use any help given! My goal is to install a 1.25" track with studs.
I hear people reference 8 tooth drivers, which as I understand are smaller than the standard vmax/venture drivers, but does anyone know by how much?
What size track can be run stock on the 1997 era Mountain Max? What confuses me is that the stock Venture drive cogs are the same part # as the stock Mountain Max drivers in 1997. In 1998 they changed the part #.
I've found these on ebay, which are listed as a 9 tooth driveshaft off a 1998 Mountain Max.

By reducing the driveshaft cog diameter, what effect will it have on the sled? I do 95% of my riding on tight trails and I love the blast of 0-50, provided I can maintain a top end around 80 mph.
Thanks everyone.
