I put a set of viper shock on my srx skid ....now I can't do a wot from a dead stop the track ratchet so mutch ...I try to run the track tight and it still do it ...if I remove load on spring of both shock to lower the sled do u think it will help ..I change the front driver with almost the same result ..I start to think that my track is thin and wobble alots under ....:o|...it look to be a single ply but its not suppose to be
 
Something is not right about that situation (stating the obvious). Did you check all of the parts to make sure you don't have something broken or installed wrong?

You mean you simply installed the Viper shocks in a SRX skid? Or did you upgrade to a Viper skid?
 
yes only install the shock in a srx skid .....the only thing I could see is that the front of the skid get out to mutch went the sled transfer ...I tight the front limiter strap almost at max it help but still do it ..nothing is broke .....not sure how could I install something wrong
 
Arnt you suppose to also install limiter straps and transfer rods from a viper also? Did you swap these over also?

i know its not the chain ...I think the track is to soft and balloon to mutch ....the track is tight can't almost roll with hands and the 1.075 stud hit the front heat exchanger .....
 
thought mine was ractheing once, couldnt figure it out to save my life, chain turned out to be loose, i would tighten it just to make sure

come on mod..don't you think its time for a new sled already..lmao...throw that cheap track away.Don't you have exchanger protectors up front.I have the same studs and studs don't even come close to exchanger..toss that Viper shock and put original back and see what gives..but check your loose chain first....h'mmmm!!! lol
 
does the track have the proper nubs on inside of track that go with all the drivers? I dont see how running longer shocks would be the main cause of your ratcheting issue (i run the longer sxr ones on my sx without issues)

I will not spend 10 000$$$$$ on a new sled ..areeeeeeeeeee u crazy ...yes I do have the protector and u should see how nice the front heat exchanger look now I think a cat had a fight with it lollll...don't worried blue its not in the chaincase ....I don't wanna put the srx back on I like the ride it give ...im sure it got something to do with that track ...don't remember who sell me that track here brand new
 
Maybe either the track or the drivers are no longer the original 2.52" pitch if they've been changed, so that they don't match up properly. This may allow the internal track drive lugs to roll over the drivers instead of registering in the space between the drive cogs properly. Might give the ratcheting sound/feel, as well as stretch the track forward around the driver so that the studs cat scratch the heat exchanger. Kinda sounds like a longshot, but you never know...

I change the driver and put some from a viper with the same result ...I think the track is really soft and cause the trouble ...
 
How about some pictures? Some closeups of the drivers, the inside of the track and the skid? We are missing something. I have never seen a track go soft and not come apart.

I will take some picture ...the brand of the track is camoplast it look like a ripsaw but 1 inch...it was made for bombardier and come from cb performance it was a load of track he buy ...I cut it down a little so the stud hook better ....I buy that track like 5 years ago
 
If the track was on the sled and working before the Viper shocks it probably is the right pitch.
Your ratcheting could be a result of worn drivers, worn track lugs and the amount of traction you are getting with all that horse power your sled cranks out.
IMO:
If the track pitch is correct its time for extroverts...LOL...it never ends!

Note:

The trouble I ran into when I went to extroverts on our SXs and my SRX is the tips of the 9 tooth extroverts teeth hit the front suspension cross member...I removed about 1/4" off the tips of the drives and they have been working good now for many years and miles.
