ok i have the intake and carb but confused as to how to hook up oil lines to intake . my Ovation has one oil line that feeds the guel before it goes into the carb. it dosnt have oil lines to the nipples on the intake that has two fittings . would i run a T fitting to connect oil lines to the intake . just concerned oil pump may not deliver enuff oil that way to the manifold
 
forgot to mention > my Ovation 1989 dosnt have the oil feed into the manifold nine feeds oil to gas line to card so i have a 340 intake with the nipples just not sure how to hook up the oil pump to the new manifold with the nipples

My Ovation does not have the oil feed into the manifold.
My Ovation feeds oil into the gas line before the carburetor.
I have the ET-340 intake with the nipples, just not sure how to hook up the oil pump to the new manifold with the nipples ?

I'm running my daughter's Ovation with premixed fuel/oil.
So I have removed the oil pump as you can see in the photos if you look closely.
That way I save space and eliminate a source of error.

Yes, you could use a T-fitting just before the intake manifold.
Run the single oil line from the oil pump to the T-fitting and then connect the two to the two brass nipples on the intake manifold.

awsome so i can run it either way also just curious what size air cleaner are you running on the carb throat ?? is it 2 1/2 or 2 1/4 ps you did an awsome job looks clean and well defined

1. Yes, you could run it either way.
2. The air filter is an UNI Snowmobile air filter, especially made for SNOW.
I do not remember the size in my head right now.
3. THANX ! , The sled works great since I changed the carburetor.

thanks again i'll measure the carb opening and order one :-) i'll sure be glad to get that Teiki carb off . it works ok just seems like not enuff fuel for top end it seems to go flat
 
STOP what you're doing and try this.
Our 1991 (or 1990) play sled, ALWAYS reliable started doing the same thing this winter. I went through that darn carb 3 times before I remembered our 1995 VMAX 600 doing the same thing and dealer told me the TORS (two wires near the carb) was shorting out. Just simpy unplug all the wires (just two) and on the carb side, next to the carb, plug the mail wire into the female wire, same goes for the other side that is leaving the tank area of the sled (it comes from the CDI box). This will disconnect the wiring from the CDI which is only a safety feature (if the carb sticks, which it won't , we hope).

It was an instant carb cure for both the Vmax and Ovation. All the Yamaha TORS (throttle override system) go bad and just aren't worth replacing CDI boxes, most dealers will tell you to just unplug them since it's "somewhat" rare that a throttle gets stuck open. Be safe though.

So few adjustments on that crappy Ovation carb that it should run fine unless it's dirty. Or the TORS is shorting out, which I bet it has.

runs perfect > i did take off that Teniki Carb and put on a carb and intake off a 340 enticer and used a T for the oil lines and now it runs flawlesly and yes Vmax my buddies V max was screwing up and i did what you said and now his runs great also . on my Ovation with that Teniki carb would top out about 50 to 55 now with the other Enticer carb i get well over 60 sometimes 65 if conditions right

I'm dragging this back up to get more info on the conversion. I know I need a 340et intake manifold and gasket and boot adapter for the new carb. Amazon has brand new mikuni carbs for under $90. Do I want a 32 or 34? What size jets, etc? I'm not a plug reader to tune the carb for sure. I'd prefer to not run premix. I would also need the new cable for throttle and choke and a unfiltered to fit either 32 or 34. Thanks for any input. I'm running it in lower michigan for ice fishing. Prefer durability to all out performance.

i ran the 34 on mine and yes ya have to go to an enticer manifold flange and intake i didnt have to change the cable on mine i used the one on t. and mine came with the choke cable already on it from E bay took me maybe 15 min to hook it all up and then i bought a UNI filter and was good to go and still runs perfect
 
Any pics as the old ones are gone now? What size jets? Do you set it up as if it were an older 340et?

i left it stock as i got it as far as jets go and it runs great > search under Ovation and look for lassee he is from sweeden and i did pretty much same as him cept i hooked up my oil injection lines with a T fitting and he runs premix
 
i used 1/4 in tygon line to intake ports and use a T off the output on the oil pump . the stock ovation mixes oil into fuel at the carb you are going to mix it with fuel in the intake it was either 1/4 or 5/16 cant remember right off hand but its really cheap and you only need like 2 feet of it if that much

lasse if ya still have your pics on here show him or tell him all you did . i mentioned you was running premix and i was still using injectors
