Looking for weight reductions

I have a 96 600 VMAX and its quite heavy, was wondering if there is any weight reduction I can do to my sled, thanks.

Plastic skis help to make it lighter if you don't already have them.

If you have electric start or reverse you can eliminate them that's a couple lbs.

Taking the parking brake off would be the removal of the small spring load lever, it weighs less than an ounce.



Plastic skis helped the way mine tracked down the trail, no more darting.

The light weight skid is a good idea.

BUT, I can honestly say I can't tell the difference in weight when my sleds tank are full or empty and that can be as much as 70 pounds right there.

Just about any skid other than the stock skid would save you 20 lbs or more.

To get it out when stuck I need the help of two men and a small boy.

Guys are obsessed with the weight of snowmobiles. Especially fat guys.

There ain't no amount of reduction to make up for my 6'3" 300# @ss!!!! Not one problem w/ weight transfer on the transfer rods.

That's funny opsled and cob because around my area about 90% of guys on Yamahas are fat guys.

This might help explain why my XT is normally faster than the other 600 twins I have raced...

I'm 6'2 285 maybe Yamaha built their sleds stout like this to support us heavy guys. LOL

Skid swap, oil injection delete, aftermarket exhaust, gut bottom of seat, speed holes im everything, drilled track, headlight delete, remove anything that isnt necessary (speedo cable, dash, belt gaurd, un needed brackets, led strip tail light.

Would taking the foam inside my hood do anything? I know it's sounds like a stupid question just asking and really nothing you can do to reduce weight?
