SX Viper (Adding electric start)

Hey crew

New to Totally Yamaha here. .

I picked up a electric start kit off used parts dealer, however it didnt have the fuse box which I understand is a common issue with those adding electric start to their vipers.

I know there is a capped connector on the right side of the sled that has to be wired to the relay. .

Question, The capped connector has three wires, the relay is four prong. . Exactly what wires go where to make this work?
 
Hi and thanks for the link! I’ve read though that before, I’m just looking for some clarification on the Viper fuse block. What was the purpose of it? For accessories? It doesn’t seem required for electric start itself.

No need for it. I made my own the first time just cause Yamaha had one there OEM. But the other half dozen I did I did not do it. Everything worked and still does work just fine without. Just over built like everything Yamaha did back in the day.

Thanks you sir for the clarification. I’m after reading your posts and appreciate them a lot- very informative. I’m the type I love to keep everything “factory”, so not being able to track down a fuse block has thrown me for a loop!

Now to track down a factory connector for the lead between the relay and the ignition switch…

I built my own back then. Side I couldn’t find one. Best best is to find a ER wire harness and switch them out or cut off and splice in if wanted. But wasn’t worth the time to me. Now the lead may be tough. Usually comes with kit but you must be piece meaning this together. It’s been a while but if ya need any help just hit me up. I still have most my nots laying around the garage.
