Thank You Yamaha!!

congrats, i like what I see enough to switch from a two to four for next season. ;)!

I wish the nitro had efi, I want to sit on one before I judge it. Riding it would be to much. Maxdlx

As I have said -except for the big dog - These machines are last years models that ROX modified

I am not satisfied at all

You wont make them all hapy for sure, but each year fewer and fewer are happy.

I AGREE!!! APEX = FUGLY!!!!
Not impressed Yamaha

Which of these sleds is going to compete with a REV 800 HO or Firecat equally in all aspects. 150 hp in the Apex is great and is probably going to be pretty comparable with these other sleds across the lake. The problem the way I see it is that the 800 REV and F7's will fly across the lake and then turn around to flatten bumps and handle the big jumps well. I don't see the Apex with its weight being comparable in this area (Doo list the Renegade at 480lbs dry). The nytro is likely able to compete there but...120 hp?, not for me. I'll keep patiently waiting for the weight to come down and the hp to go up on the ditchbanger. Dave

I think I'll wait until I see on in person before I decide, but it looks like I'll be going a different direction for my new sled next season. Nothing looks innovative, just a bunch of add-ons for '06!

I will add that the engine and fuel injection is solid, but that's it.

The day I stop for lunch or at a crossing and see nobody on the other makes and models holding their back or shaking there head or stretching their legs from rough trails, I will give in to the weight thing. Snowcross, I will give them their do until yammi can compete or beat them. But I laugh after reading all the stuff on here, because when a trail is rough it's rough. Those studder bumps aren't brand loyal. lol...

When I read the RX1 forum the thing that I notice is they all love their sleds. They don't seem to care much about the weight. I can't lift 480#s any more than I can lift 540. I've heard that the Vectors ride and performance is exceptional. I know I'm looking forward to riding a smooth and smokeless 4 stroke. Especially with 150hp. You gotta ride 'em to decide. I don't like the rev ride or look and I do like the new Yamaha looks so I hope I'll like the ride when I can afford one.

I like them alot!!! I was particularly impressed with the number of sleds that were released. I have written and erased this post four times, cuz there is sooooooo much I could say, but that's it. To those who don't like the line up....Ski Don't, Arctic Crap, and Polarass are waiting for you, just sell your blue suites before you switch, Blue is to good to be seen with any of those other obnoxious paint schemes....for god sakes A.C. can you find another color other then puke green, sixties orange, or some cheesy sticker scheme...what is it a snowmobile or a jet fighter???? my neighbors kid has a tricycle with the same scheme....I wonder if there' any relation...lol

I'm still taken aback by all the negatives...these changes are huge. There is a long list of improvements and inovations. I'm overjoyed to see Yamaha taking on the sled market full bore! These guys are serious..and if you didn't get want YOU want, build it, or wait til next year. This isn't a one year deal or the last sleds they're building..ever..there is always something left in the pot for the future. It's funny to see the resistance to change you see in the RX forum...especially since these are the owners that helped change the industry lol.

doktorC, I agree wholeheartedly. anyone out there realize they have built the rough trail sleds this year and will most likely expand the trail section next year? and probably further improve the rough trail sleds. hell, look at the progression of the sx line, from 97 till the viper (still an sx, and dont try and say it isnt) I think it is a huge step. besides, specs on a sheet dont tell the whole story. otherwise a pontiac grand am would be faster than my 00 civic si, but it isnt..... ride before you decide. my dads vector feels as nimble and light as my viper, which feels the same as my 97 600 sx did. and the weights are all different. weight is overrated. besides, too light means broken parts.....cough..AC...cough thanks for listening to my rant ;)

Well stated 03Viper....to light means broken parts. When I sunk my Yamaha this year in the deep snow 30 or 40 pounds lighter would not of made it any easier for me to get it out on my own. When you are riding down the trail or ripping across the lake what is the big deal about being a little lighter. Yamaha does not make sleds for everybody but neither does AC or Poo or Doo. One person made a statement saying fewer and fewer are satisfied with Yamaha...show me the facts man. where did you get your information. I bet if we look back at 05 and 04 it is the same people complaining but they still all ride yamaha....well most of them. SOme people like to complain, it is part of them. Yamaha's are built for the ones who just want to ride and not be at the pumps all the time. Yamaha has made big leaps since releasing the 4 stroke line 3 years ago.

The weight factor & general complaints:
Weight - the difference is huge, and it is more than 30-40 lbs. I am not a deep snow chaser so I cant comment on the dig out factor, but running a lighter sled in the bumps is a big difference.
As far as rx1 people not complaining it is because they: Are blur loyalists, or dont know "better" - You wont hear other f7,rv,prox guys complain either, because nobody- nobody likes to drop 10k and then say oops!
I may be more open to these new machines if I rode in "your" conditions - highway trails or mountains, but run one of these heavy sleds in the rough conditions I run and you'll understand our point of view.

Simply put - no not every sled will cover all the bases, but Y doesnt have a model for hard riding in the bumps - YET

People put alot of "weight" into the weight of the sled when when the biggest factor may be YOUR weight. Put a 250 pounder on an F7 beside 175 pounder on a Nytro and tell me what happens? Weight is a relative issue.

I agree that heavier people have more of a struggle snowmobiling, snocrossing or any other sport and perhaps life as a whole. I am fortunate and fitness focused, but sincerely understand there struggle.

Apples to appples is usually a fair comparison in my opinion
