Thank You Yamaha!!

A heavier sled SHOULD soak up bumps better than a lighter sled, it takes more force to move a heavier object. The only down side to wieght is trying to use "body English" to help manuver the sled.

Should works on paper, but like most things the field tells a different story, and it sure makes it hard to double the moguls vs being a snow plow

I guess to each his own...I honestly (not blindly..) beat the crap out of the Vector and it just kept coming for more. I know what you mean by throttle response "feeling" laggy..but its just a feeling..the sled actually moves when you get on the gas..the engine/clutching just doesn't head for the red instantly (big flat weights). The front end on both the RX and RS have a great light feeling and I find it real easy to keep the front up. Maybe riding style..maybe set up...maybe my brand loyalty..maybe your brand loyalty...which ever.

There's some people who shouldn't be doubling the moguls... Seen quite a few with their landings on the wrong side of the trail. Or tapping the top and jerking all over... It's scary being the one behind them having to figure out what direction they are going. no matter what brand. It's called common sense and that only goes one way on paper. Doesn't mean either way is right just means we can all look at things from different angles and find support for whatever reason. Preferences aren't about right or wrong.

bleueje17, why come and continue to judge the new line up, you said your peace. Let the others find out on their own. It sounds as if you are not on a Yamaha...and if thats the case why even bother coming to this site...hmmm

Wake up

bleueje17: You say the 06 lineup is “last years models that ROX modified”. No one on this site can speak to the 06 sleds so how can you say that? The addition of the Mono Shock, pretty much across the board, as well as adjustable shocks up front adds huge benefits across the lineup.

When you’ve ridding an APEX RTX or an Attack come back with an educated opinion on the subject. Right now without that knowledge your comments on the subject have no merit!!!!!!

Relax...its ok..he had an 84 phazer....

4 strokes are heavier...there its been said..live with it or buy an Fcat.

They are also expensive..Yamaha's have always been more expensive..why? Because they are built better..that's a fact. If I wanted cheap I would buy an old SXR and mod it ;).

Its funny how the serious guys..Spec, Rules, Mrsled..etc...are thoroughly impressed with these sleds..not nitpicking the difference between rider forward..and well rider mostly forward..

I said this 4 posts ago...ride one then judge it...

Keyboard racing is one thing...keyboard trail riding..that's sad.

Amen Mr. Sled!!!!!!!!! I wanted so bad to say something, but sometimes we need to except that a "short" between the keyboard and chair are very possible....LOL

FWIW, the Nytro's new clutch spec and lower gearing make it pretty snappy when you're working the rough stuff. Add the torsion spring rear and it's very Cat-like in its feel, IMO. As for the Apex engine, it is also very sharp on the throttle response, thanks to a number significant engineering changes to the engine. At least that is my experience on the protos I rode.

These are sleds you shouldn't judge on a spec grid alone. They are even better than the components that comprise them. Throw a leg over one at a show at least to get a feel for the big ergo changes Yamaha made.

Did not mean to upset folks about a true ditch banger. Just think the Rev platform is better adapted to that style of riding. Light weight and standing up. I ride aggressively in the trails and find the Rev tiring for my style of riding. Yamaha makes the best sleds for the way I like to ride. Will study everyones INFORMED reviews and deliberate on the difficult decision on which 06 Yami to purchase. ;)!

You can only post positive here??? After all If I can't post negative because I haven't ridden them then how can you post positive if you haven't ridden them...HMMM
And now you cant come in unless you ride Y? I ve owned plenty of Y. (infact every sled I owned except my kitty cat and current machine have been Y starting with a 78 250) The quality has always been top notch, but the fact that they have walked from so many segments of the market (kids, young adults and ditch bangers) is annoying.

Sled - I realize you are hot about my post yesterday that I edited soon after because it was harsh and I didnt run "filter" on it prior to posting, but relax I am not talking about your family -its a sled

Look at my name - do you think I was once a big blue fan?? I am not just a fox in a hen house here - I once pi$$ed blue too, and would be happy to do it again if Y had a sled that covered my "needs"

Now I have said my part, and it isnt personal.

the only thing I have to say is, if you don't have anything good to say...keep your mouth shut....yes I am blue loyal...thats why this site is here...you want to go talk bad about my views and the products I like , then go someplace else...there is a point to when we have heard enough of your negative crap....

WOW...I cant believe I just typed that....everyone forgive me....its all the negative talk about the 06 sleds...I think they are awesome...but I guess its just me.

Nice post Tom. Acctully I hacked in and posted for Tom. Tom Couldn't have possibly posted like that!!!

LOL

:rocks:

...I just love the new sleds and I have never been attacked like this before...but I am sorry for my actions...it was all JTS fault....LOL

Mr. Sled dont appologize we are adults and can take it. Some of us get very defensive when we hear trash talk about Yamaha. I love them to. To me they do no wrong. All their sleds rock. I think the 06 line up is a big step ahead for Yamaha and I think some people want what Yamaha will never deliver. I think they will take a big market away from the Doo's. Then lets say more senior riders (who have the money for sleds) is the market Yamaha is after...not the guys that want to beat the crap out of their sleds and themselves. Yamaha cant please everybody but they obviously do satisfy alot of people. Some guys may even eat their words after seing and riding these new machines. I can understand some not being happy but as Mr. Sled said you dont need to bash anybody or yamaha. There is a difference between expressing some disapointment and down right bashing the product.
Everybody to their mutual corners.
