Yep, I think Yamaha should have kept the SX/SXR red, and had the SRX blue.
Seems to me, the SRX should have been instantly identifiable.
Now, if i see a blue sled for just a split second, or from a distance, you really have to look to see what it is.

Small Update,
After giving up on finding the "Trail Performance" decals, I ended uo ordering, and installing the "700 Triple" decals in their place.
But of course, once I had them cut out, and put on, I found a set of the decals I had been looking for all along.

Looks good. Curious if the viper aluminum rear bumper bar will bolt on and the original sx bumper plastic cover fits over like stock?

I have one I was going to use with the plastic viper cover, niether will work unless you replace the aluminum piece that the flap rivets on to.
Darn I wanted to just swap the bar on my srx for the aluminum viper bar. Thanks for the info you saved me the let down

Have you sealed things up to prevent power bog?

I assume you mean powder bog ?
Lol, there is no powder here sir....
This is ND.... Ususally so cold and windy the snow is hard packed real quick.
But, my air box pre filter is new, and have never had this sled in deep enough snow to have that problem.
If it gets deep enough, I ride the Mountain Max.

Sooo.....
Been awhile....
Sled still apart,
FINALLY found a used hacksaw track, put it on last night.
Got the rear suspension rebuilt, and shocks charged. Need to replace limiter straps, as one is almost tore through.
Replaced chaincase bearing and seal(lower).
Did reed stopper notch.
Need to install rear suspension. Button up chaincase, reinstall pipes ( had to weld up a couple pinholes and repainted)
Then all I have left is to do is install clear bra on hood over decals, so I don’t catch the edge of them while wiping down.

Looks right nice!! Now is this the 97 SX originally? The second one in your signature?

Yes sir
Turned out awesome! Love builds like this that are totally unique. Did you end up shimming the viper tank? Also, is that red flap trimmed at the 'notch' across the bottom?
Those stock strobe graphics on the tunnel work really well with the sxr graphics and viper seat.

I think I ended up leaving it how it was. The Viper instrument plastic panel may have been a little bent from shipping, has straightened out now, and not noticeable.
And yes, the flap is cut at the notch. Did a black one on my XTC, and now have a blue one to put on my SRX.
