working on a 1993 Yamaha Phazer 2 that i recently purchased and cleaning the carbs and could use some replacement rubber caps (MPN: 8V0-14118-00-00) They seem expensive to replace just wondering has anyone thought of a alternative thing to use as a cap? To my understanding it just has to plug/seal the hole just wondering if anyone has had success using something other than the factory part?

Do you have the track drill bit that makes holes for installing studs?
They leave nice plugs behind.

Mine only needed to be replaced about once every 20 years. Last a lot longer than a $75 belt. Pretty cheap maintenance.working on a 1993 Yamaha Phazer 2 that i recently purchased and cleaning the carbs and could use some replacement rubber caps (MPN: 8V0-14118-00-00) They seem expensive to replace just wondering has anyone thought of a alternative thing to use as a cap? There were some folks making Billet pieces that used replaceable o rings.
This is why I went with TM38s. You can still buy genuine rebuild kits from Mikuni.
