NH Demo Rides.....Bad News...

Here is a little note from Yamaha:

Dear Totallyamaha,

I regret that we will not be able to accommodate your request to have demo rides on 2006 models in Colebrook NH. The prototypes some of your members previously rode are all booked with magazine tests for the next two weeks and are not available. We ordered additional ride able prototypes for this event but we have been informed they will not arrive in time for this event.

However, we will do everything possible including air freight if needed to make sure our non running display sleds arrive at the Colebrook event so that your members can at least view the new 2006 models in person at the Colebrook show before these units start the show circuit.

Please thank all of your members for their interest and excitement. We will let you know if there is another riding opportunity in the future.

Thank you,
YAMAHA MOTOR CORP. USA

Guys, they tried and it was great that we even had the chance to try them.

No well I was gone I also have an update on the show;

Good news it sounds like the show units have just arrived in the US and
we will have display units for the show.

A great way to sell a $10,000 sled!!! What a joke. Hopefully a dealer will let me try one? Tried the Rev and it is looking real good at this point.

See if you can get that doo salesman to throw in some extra tools with that rev. Seriously though, do you really expect Yamaha to not let the magazines test the sleds just so they can get a dozen guys on them instead, it just wouldnt make sense. People read magazines, and those are the people they are going to worry about selling sleds to, not one guy.

BTW...how often have you seen the other manufacturers let people test out their $10000 sleds?

how about anything in michigan yet ???????????????????????/

we only have the most registered sleds of any state,
you would think yamaha might want to let us check them out.

Just to clarify, there will be new 2006 units at the show for display however these units are not ride able.

There will be demo rides on 2005 models. Snowmobilers that that have not had an opportunity to ride a 120hp Vector or experience the Monoshock on the 2005 RX-1 will have this opportunity will be available at the Colebrook event.

I can test drive many of the models at many dealers around here.....All I am saying is that I would like to try one first before dumping that much cash. I have been Yammie for a long time and I will say I love the dependability. However Ski-Doo is quality also. Cat and Poo are totally out of the question. If you have ever driven a Rev, I think you would like it also. Takes some getting used to, but what a smooth ride!

I have ridden revs, and i agree they ride awesome, especially in the rough stuff. My personal problem with them is because I have 2 friends with doos, and i have pulled them each home this year, one of them i have pulled back a couple of times. This wouldnt be so bad, but both sleds have less than 1000 miles. My 7/8 year old srx with 10000 miles has made it back from every ride so far this year.

IMO, you shouldnt even have to think about whether or not my sled, or any other vehicle I own is quality, it should not even be an option, and this isnt the case for my friend with a summit, who is worried about not making it home every time he rides. This guy is such an idiot that he is still a ski doo fan after this riding season. My point is, you should think of the guys you ride with when you decide which sled to buy. (Do they want to tow you home this season?)

The least they could have done is kept the 7:30 time available for TY riders to test ride the 05's. I didn't need to pay the $$ for a hotel Thursday night to get to snodeo to stand in long lines on Friday. Bad pr on Yami's part!

I have cousins that have had Doo for years and no problems...my point is that everyone has a horror story...

Yes that is true but sled by sled its obvious that we see many more problems and recalls with the other manufacturers' sleds

Say what you want, I am not going to so brand loyal that my eyes are blind....some people are so brand loyal taht it is sick. A friend of mine is such a Polaris guy that if they made a refridgerator with a motor He would buy it.

be careful what you say about recalls...02 viper:hood, fuel pump, shocks, recoil rope>>>>

The Sno-Deo is a dying event. Every year is gets less vendors but more people(go figure) They have even gone as far as to charge a $2.00 admission this year. Arctic Cat won't even have a display or offer Demo's this year. Freedom Cycle from Concord NH is hoping to get a couple Cross Fires for display. What a joke!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My guess is Yamaha figured that out and killed the 06 rides. If they got the unridable sleds here, why couldn't they have shipped the ridable sleds? As I stated above Yamaha could have offered a private 05 ride @ 7:30 as a good public relations move. On the bright side of this situation, the temptation to upgrade my 2 sleds with 06's is gone. After Mr. Sleds excellent review and comments, getting on these sleds for the test ride would have cost me $20,000. I just know me.
Although my wife and I do like the Revs ?*!
Mad Dog, is Ski Doo offering demo rides at Snodeo?

I know what you mean about the Sno deo Maddogg. A good weekend to go and ride in the Baker River Valley if you ask me. I would rather go to the grass drags and check out new sleds. $2 admission, your right...what a joke. Thought the registration already covered trail riding fees???
