NH Demo Rides.....Bad News...

Calm down boys

It is only my opinion but I think you guys need to calm down on this one just a little bit. There is no need to make threats about buying a Ski Doo. I agree that it would be great to ride one of these sleds before ordering one.....especially considering the cost. Yamaha needs to let the magazines do their thing. I am sure they will get more bang for their buck with people reading the reports in the magazines then they would from letting a few of us ride them and write about it on this site. They know that they need to gain exposure with non-yamaha riders. They want people who ride the other brands to read about how good these sleds are and they wont get it from good reviews on this web site......they might from the magazines. How many people do you know that got to test ride a Mach Z or a Fusion this year before they ordered one? Cancelling the demo rides is a major bummer.....agreed, but it's not like they took away anything that the other 3 are giving to their loyal customers.

Ski-doo and Polaris will be offering 05 models only, as will Yamaha. Any 06 sleds will be stickers only. There might be one fusion, but don't bank on it.

Yamaha, though could have given more warning, needs the press as does all the manufactures. Arctic Cat is a total no-show, and that makes no sense tome. They said it was magazine test commitments, but that does not excuse them from allowing test rides on 05 models. Of course, they also has the least turnout for demo's last year, and two of their sleds got cracked up as well. I would not expect to see them with demo's anywhere this year. To be honest, the demo part is dying, simply becase of liability issues.

Just my two cents.

Guys, I'll still be there in some form or fashion on Friday.
Just look for the 2001 SRX with rails on the seat ( Seat jack rails). It has a bender can, and has blue kimpex wheels, and my suit says Yamaha all over it.
I still want to get some pics for the site. Stop me, say hi, and get your name in lights.

My point is Yamaha could have offered up something for their late announcement. Private test ride, same time, on the 05's would have been easy for Yamaha to put together. Just simple public relations, at no cost or effort, for their most loyal fans. Sometimes things happen you or they cannot control but a backup plan is always needed in buisness.

Just to clarify, there will be new 2006 units at the show for display however these units are not ride able.

There will be demo rides on 2005 models. Snowmobilers that that have not had an opportunity to ride a 120hp Vector or experience the Monoshock on the 2005 RX-1 will have this opportunity will be available at the Colebrook event.

There will be '05s to demo, what more do you want?

Hey WAtersuper,

Go to Pittsburg Motorsports. They will let you test drive a Rx-1. Great people to deal with. At least IMO.

I agree Bucky, they are excellent. Have helped me in a pinch on a couple occasions.
SRX6 I know they have demo rides on the 05's. Again my point is a buisness promises something, problems develop out of your control, a good buisnessman has a plan to accomodate the customer. Yamaha promised 06 rides, problems arose, no backup plan. Yamaha could have substituted something to their customers who were selected to ride the 06's. My suggestion is ride 05's without waiting in lines for 2 hours. Just my two cents and probanly not worth that!!

I have to agree with Watersuper about having a reserved 05 ride time for the guys that were going to demo the 06's, that's an excellent idea to help smooth over any negative vibes. I can also understand that those people at Yamaha, after offering test rides on Prototype sleds, may not have thought that any wrong was done and therefore didn't offer a solution to fix the situation. Perhaps all that is required is someone to ask them if a reserved ride of the 05's is possible or if the 06 ride may even be rescheduled. Just my 2 cents(which is actually 1.6 US)

as said before, go to pittsburg motorsports. they let m erip around on a sweet set up 05 rx1 a few weeks back. it was going to be vince's sled (the owner and guy behind the counter) but had neck surgury and cant ride. so now it is a demo sled. its a limited edition flat black that he added a black belly pan to, along with fox floats on front, studs, simmons flexi skis, and a low chrome cobra. thing looks amazing and makes me salivate just thinking about it. I am disapointed about the no go for 06's, but can understand. at least they were trying to let us ride em. who here has ever ridden ANY companies prototype sleds?? or even been invited???

Anyone that is going to be up there look for a viper with a american flag on the wind shield... I will be there early am in the Yamaha tent talking with the factory reps... Need to make up the mind on GT or Attak.. More than likely an attak but still going to look.

I just got word from Yamaha, that if any of you guys that where planning on going to the show anyway are welcome to ride the 05 sleds. Please let me know. If you can be there at 7:30 they will take you out at 8am.

I saw the 06's riding around :( o well, try and hit up my dealer (pittsburg motorsports) and see if my buddy vince can hook me up :)

I Just Drove 200 Miles One Way To Find Out We Could Not Test Ride The 06s

What Are They Hiding???

I HAVE SEEN BETTER HOOD LATCHES ON A FLINTSTONE LUNCH BOX!!!

HELL I RODE A NEW 05 MACH Z IN MARCH OF 2004 BEFORE THEY EVEN HAD THEIR COMPUTER MAPING FIGURED OUT!!!

IMNSHO YAM SHOULD HAVE LET US KNOW BEFORE WE MADE PLANS AND SPENT $$$ TO GET TO COLBROOK!!!

I tried to post ahead that it was off....sorry , not my fault.

Believe me I am not blaming you I know the word came from the top of the ladder not to allow test rides of the 06s!!!
As a matter of fact if Yam put you (Mr Sled) in charge of PR for the entire country they would probably be #1 or 2 in sales! not #4 My rant was not in any way shape or form directed at you and I would like to thank you for all you do for the sport in general!

I rode the 05 in 04 is what I meant opps.

I would love to drive another 400 miles round trip to see if I will spend 10 large on a sled but unfortunitly my uncle has passed away and I must go to his calling hours and funeral
If we can test them in pittsburg today there is no reason we should not have been able to take a short ride on Fri and Sat

We left RI at 4 am, got to Colebrook around 9:30. Went right to Yamaha area to see new sleds. They looked GREAT!! Talked to some Yamie reps. an teck. people, answered all my ? an more. Then the best part testing out a new APEX ER and a Vector GT!! The Vector handle better than my 05 Vector hands down! The APEX rode, handle, faster than the 05 Warrior that I tested out also! The APEX is one sweeet machine. No all I have to do is figure out what shock package to get, so I can order one!!
